Recruiting has returned from the edge of the abyss
A few years ago recruitment had become stale, with recruiters doing the same thing, chasing the same pool of candidates, using the same job boards etc. Many of the "big boys" were just doing 'blanket' keyword searches , followed by many irrelevant calls to candidates, who naturally just got more disillusioned with recruiters and their methods. Recruitment companies were investing heavily in young graduates to populates their desks to simply 'churn out' calls and work the pure numbers game - they were paying no credence to experience, they were simply looking at the bottom line. There were of course,proper recruiters still out there, using all the methods they had been trained to do years before, all centred around the word communication - do you remember those days when recruiters had to actually speak to and engage to candidates at length and meet with them??
