It is not often in over two and half years in writing this blog I write a short book review, but today I am going to break the habit! The reason why, is that there is a book that I think you should read, by two social media guru's that are Chris Brogan and Julien Smith.
The book, titled Trust Agents is about using the web to build influence, improve reputation and earn trust. What Chris and Julien do so well in the book, is use their own knowledge, built up on years of practical experience, to show you how to win people's trust and benefit from this. While it primarily applies to online, the expertise is applicable offline as well, in developing people's trust.
It is very current (I guess it should be it is only just out!) and talks about the latest social media tools, strategies and methods to put yourself in a great position for others to trust and believe in you and what you have to say.
There is a particular line in the book, that really epitomises the content:
And what Chris and Julien do so well, in a very easy reading style, is show you how to make that happen.
This is a not a self help, preacher style book. It is a very practical read, giving you the advice to help establish your own reputation (primarily online as I said), build your sphere of influence and how to realistically put this into every day practice.
