There is one question I get asked EVERY time when helping clients set up and implement their social recruiting strategies. The question is about content......
"We have a blog, a Facebook Page, a Google Plus Page, a LinkedIn Company Page, a YouTube Channel, LinkedIn Group Content and a newsletter. We haven't got time to write content for all of those channels every day - we haven't got that much to talk about. How can we produce enough different content - what can we write about?"
There is no real easy answer to producing good and relevant content for your audience, other than to say there is literally no limit to what you can share! Honestly, there isn't.
Yes it takes a little time to put some content together, but no-one said social media comes pain-free did they?
What I do find with clients is when they do start to see the huge range of content they can write about, they at least start to understand the sheer volume of things they can share with their audience.
TIP >> Make sure you understand your audience you are writing for. Seriously, set out your objectives for your content and produce content with those objectives in mind. There is no point writing content aimed at clients, if you really want to engage with potential candidates, it is different types of conversation. Likewise, if you are seeking to drive new client business through the door, case studies, work examples, how you work etc will be more relevant than 'how to write a CV'. Anyway, you get the point - write for the audience you are targeting.
So what content can you produce that is relevant to the awesome industry we work in - recruitment?
For a start, don't just think about the written word - think pictures and video as well. On Facebook the best way to get engagement is to post pictures (and video), for example. With the proliferation of smart phones that all have video, cameras and a whole bunch of apps making both of these functions easy and fun, there is no excuse at all for not adding them to your content.
