At the Social Media in Recruitment conference last week, there was a wealth of information to absorb. Copious notes were made, and some great new case studies presented.
Going through some notes today, I have three things that were said during the day, that stood out for me (just can't remember who said them - sorry!
Everyone either just starting out in social media, or 'seasoned pro's' should take not of them:
1. Talk WITH people, not AT people (when using social media)
2. The real currency of social media IS NOT £, $ or € - it is GIVING. That is how you add value to a community.
3. As a business you now need to be using social media JUST TO STAY IN THE GAME - you WILL lose out if you don't!
There was also the comment that social media is actually a time vortex, which I just had to smile at!!
What would you add to my three key points? Anything?
